Sharon Bistrian

Sharon Elizabeth Bistrian, a mainstay of Bistrian’s Sweet Corn farm stand in East Hampton for almost 40 years, died on Tuesday following a long illness. She was 60 years old.
Ms. Bistrian was born in Southampton on Oct. 28, 1951, the daughter of Sydney Dimon Payne, who predeceased her, and the former Shirley Marie Lester, who survives.
She married Michael Neal Bistrian, who also survives, on Sept. 22, 1973, after graduating from East Hampton High School. In addition to the farm stand, across the street from the East Hampton Village Emergency Services Building on Cedar Street, Ms. Bistrian also ran a hairdressing business from her home. Most recently, she was a resident of Oakview Highway in East Hampton.
“She loved that corn stand,” her sister, Allison Lupo of Amagansett, said. Ms. Lupo added that her sister was a big fan of country music, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, husband, and Ms. Lupo, Ms. Bistrian is survived by her son, Brian Christopher Bistrian of East Hampton, and three brothers, Sidney Herbert Payne of South Carolina, Wesley Bennett Payne of Albany, and Larry Allen Payne of New York City.
She is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the Oakview Cemetery in Amagansett. The family has suggested contributions to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach 11978.
