John Edward Weidert, an auditor by profession and former resident of North Sea, died on Sunday in Lady Lake, Fla. He was 81.
Visiting hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. A Mass will be said on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Poland Catholic Church in Southampton, where Mr. Weidert was a member. Burial will be at St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery in Sag Harbor.
He was born in Hartford on May 10, 1930, to John Clark Weidert and the former Marion Squires. He attended the University of Illinois and served in the Army from 1952 to 1954.
His wife, Irene McClain Weidert, survives him. He also leaves behind three sons, Mark Weidert of Frederick, Md., David Weidert of San Diego, and Robert Weidert of Cathedral City, Calif., and three grandchildren. A brother, Raymond, predeceased him.
