Don’t Ask
Neither Steve Tseperkas nor his assistant, Louis Russo, was inclined to talk during Monday’s practice about Bonac’s recent 49-30 wrestling loss at Mount Sinai.
“We didn’t win one match,” said Tseperkas. “All our points resulted from forfeits.”
Adding injury to insult, Lucas Escobar, arguably the team’s best wrestler, who has been competing this season at 120 pounds, suffered a broken clavicle and a separated shoulder during his 7-5 loss.
In the other matches contested, Matt Smudzinski was pinned at 132, Colton Kalbacher was shut out 11-0 at 152, and Dallas Foglia was edged 10-9 at 170.

Four Honored
Recently, four East Hampton High School field hockey players — Kathryn Wood, Alyssa Bahel, Casey Waleko, and Sophia DePasquale — were honored at the county field hockey coaches awards dinner.
Wood and Bahel were named to the all-division team, Waleko was named to the all-conference team, and DePasquale was cited as an all-county honorable mention.
