Guilty on zoning charges, Cyril’s begins to remodel.
A State Supreme Court Justice has rejected a lawsuit brought by the owners of a Montauk Shores Condominium trailer against the East Hampton Town Zoning Board of Appeals.
Carter Burwell, a composer of cinema scores, and his wife, Christine Sciulli, an artist, were rejected for the second time since 2013 in an attempt to expand their house at 39 Marine Boulevard in Amagansett and to add an accessory structure to the property as a working studio for Mr. Burwell.
Four days of what are expected to be intensive public sessions, called charettes, will get underway in earnest next week in each of East Hampton Town’s hamlets in a process intended to result in plans for the business centers of each hamlet.

"The preference will be for East Hampton Town year-rounders, living here or working here full time," said Katy Casey, executive director of the East Hampton Housing Authority, "with priority given to fire department volunteers, emergency medical technicians, and veterans."
A jury in East Hampton Town Justice Court on Friday found the corporation run by Cyril Fitzsimons, the namesake for Cyril’s Fish House, guilty of 45 misdemeanors related to the illegal expansion of the popular roadside Napeague bar and restaurant.
A car wash on Montauk Highway in Wainscott was one of several proposals before the East Hampton Town Planning Board on April 27. It is the second time a car wash has been proposed for the site.
It was standing room only in the Southampton Town meeting room Tuesday night at a hearing on Bridgehampton Gateway, with an overflow crowd watching on television nearby.
