Another Snazzy Montauk Hotel

Montauk Blue Hotel

The gentrification of Montauk continues apace.

The Ocean Beach Resort on Emerson Avenue, which was built in 1982, has been rebranded into the Montauk Blue Hotel. The transformation has given the oceanfront property an updated look with rooms, designed by Pentagram, a global design firm, sporting peppy blue and white furnishings and nautical stripes – what a press release describes as “seaside chic.”

A step or three up from the usual down-at-the-heel Montauk motels, the establishment’s rooms boast marble bathrooms, ocean-facing decks, and kitchenettes. If the ocean doesn’t beckon, there is also an atrium-enclosed pool on the premises.

Rates vary from mid $200s to mid $600s per night based on occupancy and demand.
