Shark tooth necklace by Fin Jewelry of Montauk
We've heard that sauvignon blanc pairs well with fish, but how about chardonnay mixed with prehistoric shark tooth jewelry?
Lieb Cellars East Hampton, the wine tasting room on Park Place in the Reutershan parking lot, is featuring different local vendors on July weekends. The pop-up for July 4th weekend was Fin Jewelry, fine jewelry made of shark teeth and gold by Bella Ornaf, a Montauk shark wrangler, and Whalebone Creative, purveyors of handmade goods inspired by the original Montauk culture.
"Since we're new to the neighborhood, we thought offering part of our space to other local businesses without their own Hamptons retail footprint would be a great opportunity for us to support the local business community and offer our customers the ability to browse while they sip," said Alicia Ekeler, the store manager.
Future purveyors will include the Times Vintage, an antiques and clothing store in Greenport, East End Light, photography by Corinne Lavinio, a Southampton landscape photographer, and Lucy's Whey, formerly of North Main Street -- to provide a more classic pairing of wine and cheese.
