Your Feet Will Thank You

Eilis Miller of East Hampton relaxes at K and G Enjoy Spa. Durell Godfrey

The sign promises “reflexology,” and though foot pampering is a large part of the experience, a session at K and G Enjoy Feet Spa can seem more like a full-body  massage – executed while you are fully clothed. The no-frills ambience and lack of linens allow the business, of which there are two similar ones in Sag Harbor and Southampton, to charge a cut-rate price – only $40 for an hour. An ideal Mother’s Day gift.

Eilis Miller of East Hampton visits high-end spas such as Naturopathica and Gurney’s Inn, but she tries to get to Enjoy Feet once a week. “This is my happy place,” she said while stretching out on a reclining chair as her feet were stroked by a Chinese practitioner.

Clients of the salon, which opened in January, enter a dimly lit sanctum where soft music plays while they are served goji berry tea in a plastic cup. As their feet are soaked in a pail of hot water, a practitioner works their head and shoulder blades, then their calves and feet, which are firmly probed, prodded, and rubbed with oil. The reflexology component is finished with a hot stone glided around arch and over toes. You are turned over or put in a massage chair so that the massage can continue on your back, leaving only your thighs and front torso unattended to. Sublime. 61 The Circle, East Hampton, 527-5257.
