Classical-music students from South Fork high schools, under the guidance of Stephanie Beroes, will join together on Sunday in a performance to raise money for and increase awareness of the Katy’s Courage fund for pediatric cancer research.
The concert, to be held at the Old Whalers Church in Sag Harbor, will feature student musicians from East Hampton, Pierson, and Southampton High Schools and the East Hampton Middle School, as well as two foreign-exchange students from the Ross Upper School.
The performers are Maxfield Panish and Leo Panish, both on violin, Emily Verneuille, clarinet, Chris Beroes-Haigis, cello, Gustave Clerin, piano, Benjamin Pereira, violin, Antonia-Tiare Klein-Bolting, piano, and Wei Qiao Lin, piano. Ezra Bershatsky, an award-winning tenor from Mannes College, the New School for Music, will sing.
Works by Bach, Chopin, Kreisler, and Hageman will be performed at the concert, which celebrates the life of Katy Stewart, who died of a rare form of liver cancer in December at the age of 12. The suggested donation is $10. The performance begins at 4 p.m.
