Children in the East Hampton School District who are not yet enrolled in prekindergarten for September can still do so at the East Hampton Day Care Learning Center, which operates the pre-K program for the district.
In order to attend, children must be 4 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2013. Parents or guardians have been asked to provide a complete immunization record, proof of age in the form of a birth certificate or passport, and proof of residency in the district — a deed, lease, contract of sale, or tax bill listing a street address.
The center offers morning and afternoon sessions of prekindergarten, free to district residents, and an extended-day program for a fee. Children not residing in the East Hampton School District may be able to enroll in the program for a fee on a space-available basis. The center is on Gingerbread Lane Extension, east of the John M. Marshall Elementary School.
