Stages will offer a fall performance workshop for 8 to 18-year-olds in preparation for a late-October production of “Frankenstein Follies” at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor. Workshop rehearsals will begin on Monday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Southampton Recreation Center and will continue on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the same time through Oct. 27, though actors may not have to attend every rehearsal. Performances will be on Oct. 25, 26, and 27. The cost is $475.
A creative drama workshop for younger kids 6 to 9 will be offered at the Bay Street Theatre on Tuesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. this week through Nov. 12. The program, which costs $285, will conclude with a short play on Nov. 12.

For Budding Artists
Budding artists can find outlets for their talent at the Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton this week. A collage workshop on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. will have families with kids 21/2 and older learning about texture and creating artworks with fabric, feathers, paper, shells, and more. The program costs $20 including museum admission, or $7 for members.
The Butter Lane Art Academy will have after-school workshops for children 4 to 11 on Wednesdays starting this week. The workshops, which run from 3:30 to 5 p.m., will give kids a chance to explore a variety of mediums, with an emphasis on art history, creative discovery, and personal development, according to the museum’s Web site. The cost is $240 for six weeks or $40 for drop-ins.

Fun Club Book Club
The East Hampton Library is adding a Saturday story and craft time to its schedule this week. Kids 3 and older can join the fun from 2 to 2:45 p.m.
Next Thursday will bring the first meeting of the Fun Club Book Club for young teens. The monthly book discussion will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. and is meant for sixth through eighth graders.
A Music Together music and movement program for toddlers 1 to 3 years old will be held next Thursday from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Advance sign-up is required for all programs.
Kids 13 and older will make their own robot metal detectors during a program on Friday, Sept. 20, at the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton. According to the library’s Web site, the homemade robot will stop, buzz, and flash when metal is found. The workshop will run from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and is limited to just eight participants. Advance registration is required.
