Don't want your kids eating all that Halloween candy? There's a local buyback program under way that can also raise money for your child's school.
Drs. Bach and Grazina at East End Orthodontics want to buy your candy. After all the trick-or-treating fun is over, have your children pick their favorites to save and then take the rest to school by Nov. 7. The orthodontists will pick it up and donate $1 to the school for every pound, up to 250 pounds. The school that collects the most candy will receive a $350 prize.
The candy will be sent to troops overseas so they can indulge a little or share it with children they meet.
Even if you're not a trick-or-treater, you can help by writing a thank-you note to a soldier and East End Orthodontics will include it in the care packages to be sent.
