The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center in East Hampton is 20 years old! The center offers toddler, junior pre-kindergarten, and pre-kindergarten classes for children between 18 months and 5 years old.

Although its name has changed over the years, with its current name chosen in 2013 in honor of Eleanor Whitmore, a longtime advocate and volunteer, its mission has remained the same.

While Amagansett and Bridgehampton offer pre-K programs for both 3- and 4-year-olds, and Montauk offers a full-day program for 4-year-olds, the Eleanor Whitmore Center provides the East Hampton School District’s prekindergarten program .

A 100th day of School celebration on Tuesday will engage students in all kinds of mathematical learning activities.
