Fishy Art and Food

Following an opening reception for an exhibit of drawings, cartoons, and scrimshaw by Peter Spacek from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Estia’s Little Kitchen in Sag Harbor, there will be a special prix fixe dinner. The menu will include coquille St. Jacques with local bay scallops, a roasted beet, goat cheese, and pumpkin seed salad, chorizo and venison stew with butter beans and dumpling squash, and lemon custard tart with blueberries and vanilla bean whipped cream. Vegetarian requests will be honored.

The special will be served all night and will cost $28 per person. Local wines may be ordered that night at a 30-percent discount. Reservations have been suggested.


Holiday Cooking and Decorating

A free demonstration at the Loaves and Fishes Cookshop in Bridgehampton from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday will center on “fondue for a crowd,” a recipe from “Tips for Easy Holiday Entertaining.”

Classes at the cookshop’s cooking school on Saturday will include a chance for kids ages 10 and up to build a gingerbread house with their mom or dad from noon to 3 p.m. and a 6 to 9 p.m. session on creating a Scandinavian-style easy holiday buffet for a crowd.


Still Fondita

La Fondita, the Mexican takeout shop in Amagansett, is still open from Wednesday through Sunday. Lunch and dinner hours run from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and until 8 p.m. the other days. Orders may be called ahead.


Breakfast at Nichol’s

Nichol’s has brought back its $9.95 breakfast, with a full menu to choose from, on Monday through Friday. The East Hampton eatery is open daily starting at 9 a.m.


Della Femina December

A December special at Della Femina, also in East Hampton, features a three-course prix fixe for $30 served on Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 until 9 p.m. On Friday, when the prix fixe is available from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and Saturday, when it may be ordered between 5:30 and 6:30, the cost is $35.


Good Italian News

Pasqualle Lavalle, the mozzarella maker at the former Tutto Italiano store, and Eric Miller, the chef and owner of Food & Co. catering company, and Hampton Clambake, are teaming up to present Pasquale Homemade by Food & Co.

The Food & Co. shop on Pantigo Road in East Hampton is being outfitted and will become a pizzeria and Italian specialty store stocked with goodies such as focaccia sandwiches and, of course, fresh mozzarella. The Food & Co. bakery has been phased out, although catering and clambake services are ongoing. The new venture will be open in the coming week.
