LongHouse Reserve will present Fergus Garrett and Warrie Price with honors at its biennial Landscape Awards Ceremony and lunch, beginning at noon on Saturday. The event recognizes the “craft and selfless service of two prominent horticultural leaders,” according to LongHouse.
Preceding the lunch will be a lecture at Hoie Hall in St. Luke’s Church by Mr. Garrett on “Great Dixter: Past, Present and Future.” He will recall his collaborations with the British horticulturalist Christopher Lloyd and discuss “the precision and care necessary to uphold the excellence and innovation of a national horticultural treasure like the garden at Great Dixter.” The lecture begins at 10:30 a.m.
Ms. Price is the founder of the Battery Park Conservancy in lower Manhattan. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from the Kennedy School at Harvard University and has been involved in several municipal groups and nonprofits.
Lynden Miller, the director and public garden designer of the Central Park Conservancy, will present Mr. Garrett’s award. Fred Rich, the chair of Scenic Hudson’s Board of Directors, will present Ms. Price’s.
