No East Hampton Town Zoning Meeting Tuesday

The East Hampton Town Zoning Board of Appeals meeting scheduled for Tuesday night has been canceled. The four public hearings concerning applications for variances that were to take place will be held, instead, in March. The new date will be published Monday.

The four applications affected are for 17 Fairview Road in Montauk, with Mike Valentino as the applicant; 48 Pine Tree Drive, also in Montauk, with Nilson W. Novoa being the name associated with that application; Alan Kazlow's application for 29 Beach Lane in the Beach Hampton section of Amagansett, and the Ackerman property at 71 Jacqueline Drive in Amagansett.

The session was cancelled because the legal notices for the hearings, which are required by law, were not printed in The East Hampton Star, due to an error on the paper's part.

According to John Whelan, the board's chairman, because the Feb. 21 session is already scheduled as a work session, and with the board having little in the way of backlog cases to deal with, there was no reason to bring members in for what would have been a very brief meeting.
