Christmas Arrives at the Montauk Lighthouse

The Montauk Lighthouse will be aglow, starting Saturday. Janis Hewitt

Christmas comes to the Montauk Lighthouse this weekend, starting on Saturday with its annual lighting, as members of the Gosman family turn on thousands of twinkling white bulbs at sundown.

The lights will continue to be lit up each night through Jan. 6. The gates open at 4:30 so visitors can roam the grounds and shop in the museum gift shop. Sarah Conway and the Playful Souls will entertain with holiday music.

On Sunday, the festivities continue with a visit from Santa from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be holiday treats and hot chocolate, pony rides, and more music by Ms. Conway and the Ho, ho, Hos. The gift shop will be open for holiday shopping. Admission and parking are free on both days. The rain dates are Dec. 5 and 6. The Lighthouse tower will be closed to climbers.
