There will be plunges tomorrow at Gurney’s Inn in Montauk, at Main Beach in East Hampton Village, and at Beach Lane in Wainscott.

The one at Gurney’s, which benefits the Retreat, begins with a gathering of plungers in its spa at 9:30 a.m. Participants will be fortified there with hot tea and apple cider before dashing into the 50-degree ocean at around 10. A buffet, at $39 each, is to follow, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

East Hampton food pantries will benefit from the Main Beach plunge, organized by the East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue Squad and sponsored by the Y.M.C.A. East Hampton RECenter. Plungers, who have been asked to solicit donations, are to register at Main Beach from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The plunge is to take place at 1. Prizes are to be given for the best costumes. Coffee, hot chocolate, soup, chili, and hot dogs will be served by East Hampton Y.M.C.A. Hurricane swim team parents.

The Wainscott plunge, at 2:30, a benefit for Phoenix House, begins with a run to the beach with its founder, Colin Mather, from his Seafood Shop on Montauk Highway, at 2.
