    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a budget/ public hearing of the qualified voters of the Amagansett Union Free School District, Suffolk County, New York, will be held at the Amagansett Union Free School District, 320 Main Street, Amagansett, New York, in said District on May 10, 2011 at 6:30 PM prevailing time, for the presentation of the budget document.
    AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that said vote and election (Annual Meeting) will be on May 17, 2011 between the hours of 2-8:00 PM, prevailing time, in the gymnasium of the Amagansett School, at which time the polls will be open to vote upon the following:
    To adopt the annual budget of the School District for the fiscal year 2011-2012 and to authorize the requisite portion thereof to be raised by taxation on the taxable property of the District.
    2. To vote upon appropriations of necessary funds requested for Amagansett Free Library and authorizing the levy of taxes therefore.
    3. To elect two (2) members of the Board of Education for three year terms commencing July 1, 2011 and expiring on June 30, 2014.
    AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required to fund the School District s budget for 2011-2012, may be obtained by any resident of the District during business hours beginning May 3, 2011, except Saturday, Sunday or holidays, at the District Office, Amagansett Union Free School District, 320 Main Street, Amagansett, New York.
AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that petitions nominating
candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education shall be filed with the Clerk of said District at the Business Office in Amagansett Union Free School District, 320 Main Street, Amagansett, New York, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, not later than Monday, April 18, 2011 at 5:00 PM, prevailing time. Vacancies on the Board of Education are not considered separate, specific offices; candidates run at-large. Nominating petitions shall not describe any specific vacancy upon the Board for which the candidate is nominated. Such petitions must be directed to the Clerk of the District; must be signed by at least (25) twenty-five qualified voters of the District; must state the name and residence of each signer, and, must state the name and residence of the candidate. The two candidates receiving the largest number of votes shall be elected to three-year terms from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2014.
    AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that applications for absentee ballots will be obtainable during business hours from the District Clerk; completed applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. Absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 PM, prevailing time, on May 17, 2011.
    AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that personal registration of voters is required either pursuant to ß2014 of the Education law or pursuant to Article 5 of the Election Law. If a voter has heretofore registered pursuant to ß2014 of the Education Law and has voted at an annual or special district meeting within the last four (4) calendar years, he/she is eligible to vote at this election; if a voter is registered and eligible to vote under Article 5 of the Election Law, he/she is also eligible to vote at this election. All other persons who wish to vote must register.
    The Board of Registration will meet for the purpose of registering all qualified voters of the District pursuant to ß2014 of the Education Law at the Amagansett Union Free School District, on May 11, 2011, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM in the Amagansett School to add any additional names to the Register to be used at the aforesaid election, at which time any person will be entitled to have his or her name placed on such Register, provided that at such meeting of the Board of Registration he or she is known or proven to the satisfaction of said Board of Registration to be then or thereafter entitled to vote at such election for which the register is prepared. The register so prepared pursuant to ß2014 of the Education Law will be filed in the Office of the Clerk of the Amagansett Union Free School District, 320 Main Street, Amagansett, NY and will be open for inspection by any qualified voter of the District beginning on May 12, 2011, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, prevailing time, and each day thereafter and prior to the day set for election, except Saturday when it will be available by appointment, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon and Sunday, and at the polling place on the day of the vote. The Board of Registration shall also meet during the said annual meeting at which times individuals may register to vote in subsequent annual and special meetings.

    Montauk Fire District invites submission for bids for grinding, repairing, cleaning and epoxy of floors and painting of walls and ceilings at the Montauk Fire District facilities at 12 Flamingo Avenue, Montauk, NY. Bidding specifications are available at at the District Office between the hours of 9:00AM and 4:00PM daily except Saturday, Sunday and holidays.
    Bids must be sealed with Paint Project written on the outside of the envelope. Bids should be postmarked and received no later than 5:00PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. They will be opened and read at the regular monthly Board of Fire Commissioners meeting, to be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 7:00PM. The Montauk Fire District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the bid best suited for its specific needs.

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Budget Hearing of the qualified voters of the Montauk Union Free School District for purposes of discussing the Annual District Budget of the Montauk Union Free School District of the Town of East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York, for the fiscal year July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012 will be held at the Montauk Elementary School, South Dorset Drive, Montauk, New York, on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. 
    NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that voting will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, between the hours of 2:00 P.M. and  8:00 P.M., in the gymnasium of the Montauk Elementary School, South Dorset Drive, Montauk, New York, upon appropriations of necessary funds to meet the estimated expenditures for the fiscal year July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012, involving the expenditure of money and authorizing the levy of taxes upon the taxable real property of the Montauk Union Free School District, and for the election of a member of the Board of Education of the Montauk Union Free School District, more specifically as follows: 
    1. To adopt the annual budget of the School District for the fiscal year 2011 - 2012, as follows: RESOLVED, that the proposed budget of expenditures of the Montauk Union Free School District for the school year 2011-12 in the amount, and for the purposes shown in the statement of estimated expenditures adopted by the Board of Education, be and the same hereby is approved and the amount thereof shall be raised by a levy of a tax upon the taxable property of the School District, after first deducting the monies available from State Aid and other sources as provided by Law.

FURTHER NOTICE IS GIVEN that copies of the Annual Budget Statement of Estimated Expenditures for the 2011-12 fiscal year will be available to any resident at the Administration Office, Montauk Ele­mentary School, South Dorset Drive, Montauk, New York, during  business hours, 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. each day, commencing April 25, 2011, through May 17, 2011, except Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, and shall be available on the day of the Election at the polling place. Petitions nominating candidates for the office of Member of the Board of Education must be filed with the Clerk of the District at the Montauk Public School, South Dorset Drive, Montauk, New York, not later than April 18, 2011, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 5:00P.M. The vacancy upon the Board of Education to be filled shall be considered a separate specific office.  A separate petition shall be required to nominate a candidate to a separate office. Each petition must be directed to the Clerk of the District, must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the district, shall state the residence of each signer and the name and residence of the candidate, and shall describe the specific vacancy for which the candidate is nominated, including at least the length of the term of office and the name of the last incumbent.           
    NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that applications for absentee ballots may be applied for at the office of the District Clerk between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, except holidays.  Such applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter or the day before the election if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter.  No absentee voter’s ballot will be canvassed unless it has been received in the office of the District Clerk no later than 5:00 P.M. on the day of the election. 
    NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a list of all persons to whom absentee ballots shall have been issued will be available at the office of the District Clerk between 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on each of the five (5) days prior to the date of the election, except Sundays, and holidays, and that such list will also be posted
    at the polling place. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN any person, otherwise qualified to vote, who is currently registered to vote in a federal, state or local election, will be entitled to vote without further registration with the school district’s board of registration. Those persons not so duly registered to vote, shall, pursuant to Section 2014 of the Education Law, personally register to vote, and no person shall be entitled to vote at the Annual District meeting of the district whose name does not appear on the register of the district. The Board of Registration of said school district will meet in the District Office of the school building, South Dorset Drive, Montauk, New York, on May 4, 2011 between the hours of  2:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. (prevailing time), at which said place and time said Board of Registration will prepare the register of the said school district, and any person shall have his name placed on said register who presents himself personally to said Board, provided that at such meeting of the Board of Registration, he is known or proven to the satisfaction of such Board of Registration to be then or thereafter entitled to vote at such district meeting or election for which such register is prepared.  The register so prepared shall also include all persons who shall have presented themselves personally for registration in accordance herewith, and all persons who shall have been previously registered hereunder for any annual or special meeting or election, and who shall have voted at any annual or special meeting or any election held or conducted at any time within four (4) calendar years prior to the preparation of the register. The Register shall be filed in the office of the District Clerk, located at South Dorset Drive, Montauk, New York, in said school district, and such registration will be open for inspection by any qualified voter of said district between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on each of the five (5) days prior to and the date set for said Annual District meeting and vote, except on Sunday.

    AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, Pursuant to Chapter 258 of the Laws of 2008, Section 495 was added to the Real Property Tax Law and requires the School District to attach to its proposed budget an exemption report. Said exemption report, which will also become part of the final budget, will show how the total assessed value of the final assessment roll used in the budgetary process is exempt from taxation, list every type of exemption granted by statutory authority, and show the cumulative impact of each type of exemption the amount expected to be received as payments in lieu of taxes (PILOT) and the cumulative impact of all exemptions granted. In addition, said exemption report shall be posted on any bulletin board maintained by the District for public notices and on any website maintained by the District.
    AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with the rules adopted pursuant to Sect. 2035 of the Education Law, any qualified voter may have a proposition or an amendment placed upon the ballot, provided that such amendment (a) be typed or printed in the English language; (b) that it be directed to the Clerk of the School District; (c) that it be submitted to the Clerk not less than thirty (30) days preceding the date of the Annual School District Election and Budget Vote, no later than Monday, April 18, 2010, 5 o’clock p.m. prevailing time, at the District Office, 4 Long Lane, East Hampton, New York; and (d) that it be signed by at least twenty five qualified voters of the district. However, the School Board will not entertain any petition to place before the voters any proposition for the purpose of which is not within the powers of the voters to determine, nor any proposition or amendment which is contrary to law.
