Soldier Ride the Hamptons celebrated a decade on Saturday.
The annual bicycle ride from Amagansett to North Haven included a pit stop in Sag Harbor Village, where Marine Lance Cpl. Jordan C. Haerter, a native of Sag Harbor who was killed in Iraq in 2008, was remembered.
The event brought out over 600 cyclists, including 50 wounded soldiers from the United States and United Kingdom, along with hundreds of their supporters, according to Nick Kraus, an organizer. A picnic at the Amagansett property known as Ocean View Farm took place afterward. A figure on the amount raised was not yet available. The money supports the Wounded Warrior Project.
