In Photos: Cedar Point Lighthouse Restoration Begins

The top of the Cedar Point Lighthouse was removed last week for restoration and taken by barge to Sag Harbor. Off-loaded at Long Wharf, a crew from Chesterfield Associates and Bob Coco Construction helped move the cast-iron structure to the Sag Harbor Yacht Yard, where it will be worked on.

It will be returned as part of a ambitious overhaul of the disused stone structure being coordinated by the Long Island chapter of the U.S. Lighthouse Society.
