Sister Ann, who runs the Cormaria Retreat House in Sag Harbor Village, wanted to do something to bring the community together after the fire that ravaged part of Main Street last week. So she and Lisa Field, the president of the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce, came up with an idea for a candlelight gathering, slated for Tuesday afternoon, as the village looks toward the new year.
"Even though the fire was sad, we wanted to put a more positive spin on it," Ms. Field said Wednesday afternoon. "We want to show our appreciation for all the firemen and everybody who saved the village," she said.
There may be some prayers said, or possibly singing. Those who attend can make it what they want, Ms. Field said. "It's really about bringing the community together and looking toward the new year with hope."
Those who wish to participate can gather by the Long Wharf windmill on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
