There is still time to sign up for workshops at the East End Mental Health Awareness Day on Saturday.
The free conference, open to anyone who might need help with mental health or who knows someone who does, will be held at Southampton High School on Narrow Lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sponsored by the Town of Southampton, the day will begin with a light breakfast at 9, followed by a panel discussion and afternoon workshops. Vendors will attend, and there will be an opportunity to network with professionals. Lunch will be served as well.
Topics to be addressed include mental health for children, cognitive and emotional wellness for senior citizens and caregivers, substance abuse, suicide awareness and prevention, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Access to treatment on the East End will also be a topic of conversation. Workshop sessions begin at 11:45 a.m.
New this year, the Southampton Town Youth Bureau's Act TWO group will give a theatrical performance at 10:15 a.m., and Creative Explorations will offer poetry readings and original songs and art.
