Garden Sale and Preview Party

The 2017 Garden Club of East Hampton plant sale Durell Godfrey

The Garden Club of East Hampton’s annual plant sale preview, party, and silent auction will be Friday, May 25, on the Mulford Farm grounds from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $50 at the gate. The sale, with free admission, will begin in earnest the following morning at 9. Unique to the garden party will be Hawaiian orchids, hanging baskets, and specially selected potted plants. The silent auction will include books, paintings, jewelry, and travel opportunities.

The sale also will feature annuals and perennials especially selected for East Hampton’s Zone 7a climate. In addition, annuals designated by New York Botanical Garden professionals for the garden club’s new Thomas Moran house garden will be on display.

The Mimi Meehan Native Plant Garden behind Clinton Academy, the roses at the Long Island Rail Road station, and the Nature Trail are only a few of the many projects the Garden Club undertakes. Each year, interns from East Hampton High School receive scholarships from the club for volunteer work at Big Reed Pond in Montauk. The party and sale are the club’s only fund-raisers of the year.
