The Hamptons Marathon donated $100,000 to various charities, including $40,000 each to Southampton Hospital and Southampton Youth Services, all with money raised from its October race in Southampton Village.
The race supports local nonprofits and this was its largest donation since its inception, and its first marathon in Southampton Town. Money also went to the Southampton Educational Foundation, the Southampton Arts Center, the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and the Flying Point Foundation for Autism.
The Hamptons Marathon moved to Southampton from its former base in Springs last year. Over the past 10 years, the Hamptons Marathon has donated more than $675,000 to nonprofits on the East End. Diane Weinberger and Amanda Moszkowski are the race directors.
