Movie Night, an annual summer tradition at Amagansett Square, begins on Wednesday. The full menu at Meeting House restaurant, located on the square, will be available to go for an outdoor picnic.
This year's series launches with a screening of "School of Rock" starring Jack Black and John Cusack. The 2003 comedy focuses on Dewey Finn, an overly enthusiastic guitarist who is thrown out of his band and, needing work, becomes a substitute music teacher at a private elementary school.
On July 20, the series will offer "Best in Show," written and directed by Christopher Guest and starring Eugene Levy and Fred Willard. The mockumentary follows human and canine contestants as they gather for one of the biggest events in their lives, the Mayflower Dog Show.
"Step Into Liquid" is scheduled for July 27. Filmed in waters around the world, this documentary by Dana Brown is about surfing and the men and women who seek out the globe's most challenging waves and exotic locales.
The series wraps on Aug. 3 with "Ratatouille," the 2007 computer-animated comedy from Pixar. The story follows Remy, a Parisian rat (voiced by Patton Oswalt) who dreams of becoming a chef. The film also features the voices of Peter O'Toole, Lou Romano, Janeane Garofalo, Brian Dennehy, Ian Holm, Peter Sohn, and Brad Garrett.
Movie fans have been advised to take a chair or blanket to the free screenings, which begin at 9 p.m.
