Music for, and in, Montauk

Music for Montauk will host a free concert on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Montauk School gym. "Bach to Brazil" will feature classical works with the soprano Rachelle Durkin, a cello ensemble led by Ani Kalayjian, and guitar works by Villa-Lobos and J.S. Bach. A reception to meet the artists will follow at Gosman's restaurant from 5:30 to 7. Tickets for the reception are available in advance for $35 per person at White's Liquors, Naturally Good Foods, and online at musicformontauk.org. The cost at the door will be $40.

In other music news, the Montauk Music Festival begins next Thursday with a kickoff party at the Montauk Yacht Club from 7 p.m. to midnight. Live music will continue through Sunday with performances at over 40 venues across the hamlet, including bars, restaurants, the downtown green, the Montauk School, Gosman's Dock, and the Montauk Lighthouse. Admission to the party is $45 and includes an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, and dancing to live music by participating bands.
