PSEG Tree Trimming Could Cause Traffic Delays in Bridgehampton

Delays are expected in Bridgehampton during a PSEG-Long Island tree-trimming project that will start Friday and run through Aug. 25, weather permitting.

Line crews will start work on Snake Hollow Road, beginning at Montauk Highway and heading north to Mitchell Lane, finishing on Scuttlehole Road.

Southampton Town Highway Superintendent Alex Gregor asked that drivers use caution. He said there would be workers with flags to alternate single-lane traffic flow on the two-way street and recommended that drivers use a different route if they can.

There are two entrances and exits to the Bridgehampton Commons shopping complex on Snake Hollow Road. The Hampton Classic Horse Show, also located on that road, is set to begin on Aug. 27.

Mr. Gregor said the project is run by PSEG-Long Island and Asplundh, a tree company that specializes in trimming and pruning and is contracted by PSEG. Any concerns should be directed to those companies.
