STOP Day for Southampton and East Hampton Residents Saturday

East Hampton Town and Southampton Town residents will have an opportunity to dispose safely of household hazardous waste on Saturday.

The Stop Throwing Out Pollutants program for household hazardous waste disposal is coming to the Montauk transfer station from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Also that day, the Town of Southampton’s Hampton Bays facility will host a STOP Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Acceptable materials include automotive products such as air-conditioning refrigerants, antifreeze, and gasoline, household products such as carpet cleaners, furniture polish, and paint strippers, and lawn and garden products, including pesticides. Among other products accepted are aerosol cans, lighter fluid, rechargeable batteries, and swimming pool chemicals. STOP Days are for residential waste only.
