Santa Crawl Saturday in Montauk Not Just About Bar-Hopping

There are many holiday events around the South Fork, but not that many Santa Crawls, the madhouse event also known as Santacon held in many cities across the U.S. every Christmas.

Now one will be held in Montauk on Saturday, and it's not just about drinking, but about raising money for two community organizations.

Starting at noon, participants can enjoy $2 beers at Muse at the End, the Point Bar and Grill, the Shagwong, Saltbox, and Tauk at Trail's End. A band will perform during the buffet at Trail's End. Santa suits have been encouraged, if not de rigueur. A donation of $20 includes a buffet later at Tauk at Trail's End.

Proceeds will be given to the Montauk Playhouse and Contractors for Kids, a not-for-profit corporation based in Islandia that offers help to families dealing with the illness, injury, or death of a child.

To reserve a spot in the Santa Crawl buffet, Tauk at Trail's End can be called at 631-266-2100.

Rooms can be reserved at Daunt's Albatross in Montauk for $69 for those participating in the Santa Crawl.
