Screens and Teens Tonight at East Hampton Middle School

East Hampton Middle School is holding a parents-only discussion this evening at 6:30 with Nicholas Kardaras, author of "Glow Kids: How Screen Addiction Is Hijacking Our Kids," published in 2016.

Dr. Kardaras will discuss the timely topic of screen addiction among adolescents. During his clinical work — he has worked with over 1,000 adolescents over the last decade — he began to realize that many were suffering from a screen-induced malaise and genuine psychiatric disorders such as anxiety, depression, and even psychosis-like symptoms resulting from screen dependence.

The author, who lives with his family in Sag Harbor, has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN, Fox and Friends and NPR. He appeared on ABC's "20/20" in April. He will talk for about 50 minutes and answer questions for roughly half an hour. There will be live translation via earpieces for Spanish-speakers.
