September is Falls Prevention Month, and the Suffolk County Department of Health Services is offering various prevention workshops across the county for senior citizens throughout the coming months. On the South Fork, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, the John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor, and the East Hampton Library are hosting events through November.

According to a release from the county, Dr. James Tomarken, the commissioner of health services, has invited the public to Suffolk's programs intended to teach senior citizens behaviors that will help reduce the risk of falls.
