Talkhouse Party for Two Hurricane Victims

An evening of live music, food, and a 50-50 raffle on Thursday from 6 to 9 at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett will raise money for two South Fork natives who lost their homes, cars, and jobs when Hurricane Irma devastated St. John in the United States Virgin Islands.

Kim Nalepinski and Serena Gagliotti both grew up on the South Fork but had been living on St. John for many years, Ms. Nalepinski in Coral Bay and Ms. Gagliotti in Cruz Bay. Ms. Nalepinski evacuated days before Irma barreled over the island and has been staying since then with her parents in East Hampton. Ms. Gagliotti left a few weeks later.

"They have both moved back to the East End to start over and we would like to . . . help them get their footing in this tough time," Nancy Atlas, a musician who is helping organize the fund-raiser, wrote on Facebook.

Ms. Atlas, who is friends with both women, will play on Thursday with her full band. Also in the musical lineup are David Giacone, Inda Eaton, Telly Karoussos, Sarah Conway, Bosco Michne, Lynn Blue, and David Portocarrero, among others.

Ms. Nalepinski and Ms. Gagliotti worked for animal care centers on St. John, and Ms. Gagliotti is now working with the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, which will have its mobile adoption unit on hand that evening with adoptable dogs and cats rescued from Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

The suggested donation is $20.
