Women and Allies March

In conjunction with the nationwide Women and Allies Strike Out and Protest, a march and rally will be held on Monday starting at 5 p.m. at the World War I memorial at Otter Pond. The march will follow Main Street to the windmill at Long Wharf, where the rally will happen at 6.

Demonstrations will take place that day in cities across the country to protest the normalization of sexual assault, racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, unconstitutional behavior, and hate, which many citizens feel will be a consequence of the presidential election last month. The marchers also hope to encourage members of the Electoral College to use their constitutional right to cast their votes against President-elect Trump.
