Carol C. Drought, who was retired from the American Horse Society, died at home in Montauk on June 20. She was 82.
She scheduled events and worked in various other capacities for the society. When she moved out to Montauk from New York City 20 years ago, “She would quilt, knit, and tend her garden,” Aster Stein, a cousin, said.
Ms. Drought was born in New York City on Dec. 31, 1928, the daughter of William and Helene Drought.
A private service will be held at a future date.
