Clyde S. Nason, who served in both the Navy and the Air Force, died on Saturday at the house on Woodbine Drive in Springs that he had shared with his wife for the past 51 years. He was 86.
Following his military duty, Mr. Nason took a job at Riverhead Building Supply in East Hampton. He retired about 20 years ago. He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Springs Fire Department.
Mr. Nason was born in Grafton, Mass., on July 24, 1925, to William Nason and the former Blanche Foley.
He is survived by his wife, Elinor Nason, and four children — Cheryl Beimly of Vandalia, Ohio, John Nason of Centerville, Ohio, Mark Nason of Dayton, Ohio, and Pamela Nason of East Hampton. Nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
A private funeral service will be held in Grafton at a later date. The family has suggested memorial donations to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach 11978.
