Ramiro M. Pillco, 38, was arraigned before East Hampton Town Justice Catherine A. Cahill on June 14 on four counts of rape by forcible compulsion, a felony, after he allegedly had sexual relations with a girl under the age of 17.
East Hampton Town police reported only that the incidents had occurred in East Hampton Town. Detective Lt. Chris Anderson said that “due to the sensitive nature of the investigation,” the name of the girl is being withheld, as is information pertaining to the alleged perpetrator such as his home address.
The girl told police on June 13 that she had been raped on five separate occasions over the past few months, according to a report. After visiting the scene of the alleged crime and collecting evidence, police conducted interviews with both the victim and Mr. Pillco, at which time he admitted to having had sexual relations with the girl on several occasions, they said. Police subsequently obtained a sworn written confession from him.
In addition to the rape charges, Mr. Pillco was charged with a criminal sex act, which is also a felony, and five counts of having acted in a manner injurious to a child, a misdemeanor. Bail was set at $1 million, and he was taken to the Suffolk County jail in Riverside.
An official with Child Protective Services is seeking an order of protection from Family Court. In the meantime, Justice Cahill issued a so-called “stay away” order on the alleged victim’s behalf.
Mr. Pillco had been unable to post bail as of Tuesday.
