Andrew J. Volpe of East Hampton was driving a 1991 Acura north on Accabonac Road near Town Lane here at about 7 a.m. on Aug. 17 when he lost control of the car and crashed into a tree.
He told town police he could not remember the incident other than that he was drinking a cup of coffee. He complained of trouble breathing and was taken to Southampton Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Another accident resulting in a trip to Southampton Hospital occurred at about 2 p.m. that same day when Joseph C. Iovane of North Babylon turned the 1994 Mercedes-Benz he was driving into the Gurney’s Inn parking lot on Old Montauk Highway in Montauk, striking the wooden pilings that mark the entranceway. He hit his head on the windshield, resulting in bruises and cuts. He was treated at the hospital and released.
Kirsten Judson of Montauk was driving a 2004 Pontiac east on Montauk Highway in Amagansett on Aug. 20, approaching Surf Drive, when Grace Fryman, also of Montauk, driving a 2010 Hyundai, pulled out of that road, trying to make a left turn. Ms. Judson’s car struck Ms. Fryman’s.
Ms. Fryman told police she did not see the oncoming car. She complained of internal pain and was taken to Southampton Hospital for treatment.
