Jewel Thief Strikes

    An Ancient Highway, East Hampton, house was burglarized on May 20. Doreen Anderson told East Hampton Town police she had been out during the morning and retuned around 12:15 p.m. to find that the master bedroom had been ransacked.
    Two passports were stolen, along with $150 in cash, a container holding about $2,000 in coins, and a number of pieces of fine jewelry, including a 14-carat yellow gold man’s wedding band, a woman’s 14-carat yellow gold double etched wedding band, a yellow gold engagement ring, white gold diamond stud earrings, the same in yellow gold, a pair of gold hoop earrings, a Pierson High School graduation ring, and several other pieces of jewelry.
    The value of the missing items was estimated at $5,000 minimum. Police found no sign of forced entry.
