A quick course that could help save a life will be given Sunday by members of the Bridgehampton Fire Department Ambulance Company during an open house at the firehouse on School Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public has been invited to stop by to watch demonstrations by emergency medical technician volunteers and learn hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation and get a close look at the inside of an ambulance. There will be free blood pressure tests, information about first aid, child-identification kits, and details about joining the squad. For children, there will be temporary tattoos, E.M.S. hats, and gift bags. Hot dogs and drinks will be provided as well. Tickets for the July Bridge Bucks cash raffle will be on sale.
On Monday, the department will host a blood drive from 2 to 8 p.m. Donors must be 17 years old or older, though 16-year-olds can donate with a parent or guardian’s written consent. All donors have to be in good health and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.
