Terry Hoyt, a volunteer with the Bridgehampton Fire Department for 23 years, has been posthumously awarded the Southampton Town E.M.S. Advisory Committee’s Nancy Makson Award for Excellence. During a dinner on Friday night at the Coast Grill in North Sea, Ms. Hoyt’s dedication to emergency medical services was recognized, as were members who were nominated from six other agencies that serve the Town of Southampton, including Steven Hatfield, an emergency medical technician with the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Ms. Hoyt’s husband, Philip Cammann, a paramedic who also volunteers with the Bridgehampton Fire Department, accepted the award on her behalf.
Violetta Zamorski, the chairwoman of the committee, a longtime volunteer, and a Suffolk County E.M.S. instructor, was also recognized, receiving the Ralph Oswald Distinction for Inspirational Leadership. Southampton Town Councilman Stan Glinka presented proclamations to Ms. Zamorski and for Ms. Hoyt.
