Kudos for Sag Harbor E.M.T.s

Three members of the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corps were surprised with awards from the Suffolk County Regional Emergency Services Committee over the weekend during the Corps’ annual awards dinner at 230 Elm in Southampton. 

Mark Poitras, who was named the corps’ Member of the Year, also received the regional committee’s 2017 E.M.S. Educator of Exellence award. Deputy Chief Ellen Komosinski was on hand to present the county awards. She also surprised Debbie O’Brien, the corps’ vice president, with the county’s 2017 Advanced Life Support Provider award. Edmund Downes received an honorable mention for 2017 Basic Life Support of the Year. 

The REMSCO awards are based on written nominations that are then reviewed by the regional committee.
