For a first-term East Hampton Town Board member, Kathee Burke-Gonzalez has had a full plate. Among her leadership roles has been serving as the point person on noise restrictions for East Hampton Airport. Her other areas of responsibility include being liaison to the Human Services Department, the disabilities advisory board, and the Montauk Playhouse board of managers, and serving on the planning committee for a new town senior citizens center. She was also involved in drafting the town’s rental property registration law.

Ms. Burke-Gonzalez has lived in East Hampton Town for more than 20 years, first in Montauk, then in Springs, where she served for nine years on the school board, two as its president. She and her husband, Joe Gonzalez, have a daughter at East Hampton High School and a son in college.

At a recent forum, Ms. Burke-Gonzalez said that the town had made strides working on mental health services, particularly for younger people. “I’m proud of our track record,” she said, “but there’s always more we can do.”

Her name will be on the Democratic, Working Families, and Independence lines on Tuesday.
