The Love of Dog

Cesar’s Basic Biscuits
    This recipe for dog biscuits is from Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer.
    No serving amount given.
21/2 cups whole wheat flour (can substitute oat or white)
1 egg
1 tsp. beef or chicken bouillon granules, or substitute broth
1/2 cup hot water
Optional add-ins: liver powder, wheat germ, shredded cheese, bacon bits


    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    Dissolve bouillon granules in hot water. Combine all ingredients and knead well until dough comes together. Roll out to half an inch thick. Cut into shapes with cookie cutter or knife.
    Bake approximately 30 minutes.

Basic Dog Food
    The name says it all.
    Serving size depends on size of your dog.
1 lb. ground meat, antibiotic and hormone free, chicken, turkey, beef, or lamb
2 cups cooked rice
1 lb. bag frozen vegetables, carrots, celery, broccoli, sweet potatoes, etc.


    Brown meat, drain off fat, set aside.
    Steam, then puree in food processor until coarsely chopped, or chop by hand.
    Mix all together and divide into portion sizes. Can be refrigerated for two days or frozen for up to three months.
