Downs Titles
    The following won golf titles at Montauk Downs Saturday: Graham Bruwer, championship flight, with a gross score of 86. John Kernell, A flight, with a gross score of 82. Jeff Dickson, B flight, with a net score of 68. Jim Johnson, C flight, with a net 83. Valinda Valcich, women’s A flight, with a net 73. Joan Falcetta, women’s B flight, with a net 76.

Polo Final
    White Birch and La Lechuza were to have vied in the Hampton Cup final at Two Trees Stables in Bridgehampton Tuesday afternoon.
    On Saturday, before a large crowd, White Birch, whose number-three, Mariano Aguerre, won the most valuable player award, defeated Heathcote 15-12. Aguerre’s mare, Jackie, was named the best playing pony.

Labor Day Races
    The Great Bonac races, a 10K, a 5K, and a 5K walk based at the Springs Fire Department on Fort Pond Boulevard, are to be contested Monday morning. The 10K, won last year by Peter Heinz in 37 minutes and 31 seconds, is to start at 9 a.m. The 5K, won last year by Adam Cebulski in 18:10, is to start at 9:20.
