There were 1,330 finishers in last year’s half-marathon, 314 in the marathon, and 232 in the 5K. The winners were: Christian Thompson in the half, Kevin Stakres in the full, and Drew Falkenhan in the 5K. Jack Graves

 Marathon, Triathlons

    This will be a big weekend for long-distance competitors. The Hamptons marathon, half-marathon, and 5K are to be contested Saturday at the Springs School, beginning at 8 a.m. Also that day, at 6:40 a.m., there will be a MightyMan Sprint triathlon (750-meter swim, 17K bike, and 5K run) at Fort Pond in Montauk.

    On Sunday, Event Power Long Island will hold its MightyMan Olympic (1.5K swim, 40K bike, and 10K run) and Half-Ironman (1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike, and 13.1-mile run) triathlons at Montauk’s Fort Pond, beginning at 6:40 a.m.


Men’s Soccer

    The East Hampton Football Club and the Hamptons United Over-30 team continued undefeated in divisional play over the past weekend. Playing in Queens Village, the open team defeated Leros 4-2, with Jefferson Ramirez (two), Mario Olaya, and Antonio Padilla scoring the goals.

    Also playing on the road, the Over-30s defeated Hauppauge 5-1.

    The open team has a bye this week, though the Over-30 team is to play the East Islip Seniors at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Ross School field.


Sportime Offerings

    Among the offerings at the Sportime Arena in Amagansett are the following: Inline skating for children ages 4 to 9, Tuesdays, 5-6 p.m.; roller hockey for children ages 6 to 11, Tuesdays, 6-7 p.m.; flag football for children 7 to 12, Wednesdays, 5-6 p.m.; dodgeball for ages 8 to 12, Fridays, 5-6 p.m.; a basketball clinic for ages 7 to 12, Saturdays, 11 a.m.-noon, and a soccer clinic for ages 5 to 12, Saturdays, 9:30-11 a.m.

    In addition, the fall indoor soccer and adult roller hockey leagues are under way. Roller hockey games are played Tuesdays from 7 to 10 p.m.; the adult soccer league games are played on weekends. A men’s basketball league for players 18 and over was to have begun at Sportime on Monday evening. Those games are contested from 6 to 8 p.m.

    On Mondays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to noon, there are “playdate” sessions at Sportime for children ranging in age from 9 months to 4.


S.A.M.P. 5K

    The Shinnecock Reservation’s Substance Abuse Mobilization Project (S.A.M.P.) is to benefit from a 5K run-walk around the reservation Saturday. Registration, in the parking lot, begins at 8:30 a.m. The race is to begin at 10.

    The Ross School is to hold a 5K at East Hampton’s Main Beach on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. Registration will be from 8:30 to 9:45.
