Softball Tourney

The Travis Field memorial scholarship fund is to benefit from a free-swinging coed softball tournament that is to begin at the Terry King ball field in Amagansett today at 5 p.m. Games are to be played there from 5 p.m. tomorrow, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. each day. The rain dates are Aug. 7 to 10. About 30 games are to be played over the tournament’s four days.

Rotary Races

The East Hampton Rotary Club will hold 10K and 5K road races at Fresh Pond, Amagansett, on Saturday. The start time is 9 a.m. Check-in will be from 8 to 8:45. The preregistration fees are $35 for the 10K and $25 for the 5K. Day-of-race fees will be $40 and $30. Runners can register online through Islandrunning.net.

Junior Lifeguards

The East Hampton Town junior lifeguard tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. both days, at Indian Wells Beach in Amagansett. The junior lifeguard program is for 9-through-14-year-old boys and girls.

Waterbury Cup

Going into yesterday’s polo games, between White Birch and C.T.-Energia and between Equuleus and K.I.G., White Birch was 2-0 in Monty Waterbury Cup play, Equuleus and K.I.G. were at 1-1, and C.T.-Energia was 0-2.

A semifinal is to be played Saturday at Two Trees Stables in Bridgehampton at 4 p.m. The other is to be played Sunday at 10 a.m. at Equuleus’s field. The final is set for Wednesday, though the time and site had yet to be decided as of earlier this week.
