Women’s Sailing

The Breakwater Yacht Club in Sag Harbor will hold JY-15 sailboat races for women this Sunday, beginning at about 2:45 p.m. The skippers’ meeting is to be held at 2. Sara Nightingale, whose email address is, is in charge.

Mighty Hamptons

The Steve Tarpinian Memorial Mighty Hamptons Triathlon (1.5-mile swim, 40K bike, and 10K run), which Alexander Libin won last year in 1 hour, 52 minutes, and 56 seconds, is to be contested at Long Beach in Noyac on Sunday, Sept. 18.

Jean Mellano, the late triathlon director’s partner, who wrote a book about him titled “Slipped Away,” will walk the 10K as part of a relay with Ron Hurtado, founder of the Airborne Tri Team, “a not-for-profit organization for mentally and physically challenged war veterans.”

Harriet de Leyer was incorrectly identified as Harriet de Leyer Bernagozzi in a story on the Hampton Classic’s leadline class last week.

Moreover, it is the Israel Tennis Centers, not Israel’s Tennis Centers, as appeared in a headline last week concerning an exhibition the Israel Tennis Centers gave at the East Hampton Outdoor-Indoor Club.
