The story of Kunkush the cat, a beloved pet that a family fleeing Mosul, Iraq, found it impossible to leave behind
The story of how Sura, an Iraqi refugee, was reunited with her cat, Kunkush, in Norway months after fleeing Mosul is told in a new picture book co-written by those involved in the extraordinary effort. Doug Kuntz
After the Iraqi family that lost Kunkush saw an article about the worldwide efforts to find them, they talked with the cat’s caretakers over a Skype call. Kunkush heard their voices and looked for them through the computer.
