‘The kids are playing with increasing confidence’
Brendan Hughes and his teammates played with great energy Friday night, sending Bayport-Blue Point to a 77-67 defeat, which enabled the Bonackers to make the playoffs.
Lucas Escobar improved his senior-year record to 33-3
Lucas Escobar pinned three opponents in Saturday’s league meet at Shoreham before losing 6-2 to the home team’s James Szymanski in the 120-pound final.
The Class D championship game is scheduled for noon, to be followed by the Class C title game between Pierson and Stony Brook at 2:30.
