John H. Davis, a best-selling author and member of the Bouvier family, died on Sunday in New York City at the age of 82 after a long illness and Alzheimer’s disease.

John Thomas Jones, who started working at Gosman’s Dock in Montauk while a teenager and remained there for nearly 30 years, died of knife wounds on Jan. 15

Peter Price, an architect who had an office on Newtown Lane in East Hampton for more than 30 years, died of heart disease on Jan. 24 at home in Sag Harbor. He was 66.

Armin Fried, who had lived in East Hampton part time since 1986, died on Jan. 13 in Arlington, Va. He was 87 .

Sayyid Abulgasim Khatami died at home in New York City on Jan. 13 after a brief illness.

Dorothy H. Allen, known as Dot, was a Sag Harbor resident for over 60 years.She died at home in Islip on Saturday.

Frank Bennett, a longtime resident of Sag Harbor, died at his retirement community in Crystal River, Fla., on Jan. 16 of congestive heart failure. He was 76.

Preston Mulford, a 14th-generation member of the Mulford family of Amagansett, which included some who were whalers, died at home on Jan. 6 in Centreville, Va. He was 82.

Joseph Pernica, who owned a house on Hedges Bank Drive in East Hampton for 32 years, died on June 22 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. He was 86.
